Most underfloor heating that disappoints was never designed. Pipe gets laid at whatever spacing the installer felt like, the manifold is balanced by eye, the flow temperature is left where the boiler put it, and the room never quite gets warm on a cold morning.

We design it first. Heat loss calculated room by room, pipe centres set to suit the floor construction and the loss, circuit lengths kept within limits so the flow is even, manifolds balanced to the calculation, and the system commissioned and recorded when it's done.

What we do:

• Screed, low-profile and joisted floor systems

• Manifold installation, balancing and commissioning

• Zoning and controls, including wiring centres and thermostats

• Underfloor heating run from a boiler or a heat pump, including mixed systems with radiators upstairs

• Kitchen extensions, basements, wet rooms and whole-house installations

• Pressure testing before screed, with certification

Underfloor heating works best at low flow temperatures, which is also what makes it the right partner for a heat pump. If you're thinking about either, it's worth designing both together rather than fitting one and retrofitting the other.
